Industrial Motors and Drives
We offer a wide range of motors and drives to cater for diverse customer needs. Our primary products are industrial AC and DC electric motors, ranging in power from 0.015kW (1/50HP) to 1100kW (1500HP). Our 'Super-E' motors are optimized for efficiency, ensuring the lowest operating costs for the customer. We also offer broad lines of brake-motors, explosion-proof, C-face, pump-motors and gear-motors to provide solutions for any purpose or environment.
Baldor's specialist, 'definite purpose' motors are customized for use in distinct industries and environments. This range includes:

Motion Control Solutions
Board level and fully packaged motion controllers are available. The motion controllers can be configured for multi-axis servo and stepper applications. Onboard I/O can be used to provide machine control in many applications, removing the need for an external PLC. The I/O is easily expanded using the controllers onboard CAN expansion capability. All of our motion controllers, and intelligent servo drives, are programmable in Baldor’s easy to use motion language, Mint.
Baldor offer a complete range of single and three phase servo drives from 2.5A to 27.5A, all supported by a fully featured Windows commissioning tool and auto-tuning. The servo drives are complemented by a range of rotary servo motors, the BSM series, available in both a high performance configuration and a more cost effective higher inertia configuration. For linear motor, Baldor offers one of the most extensive range of linear motors and linear stages in the market today.

Baldor's Washdown Duty Motors are available from stock in single and three phase AC and in DC designs. Horsepowers range from 1/2 to 20. Designs include motors having an electostatically applied epoxy finish, paint free with major components in 300 series stainless steel, and all stainless steel. Applications include food processing, packaging, pharmaceuticals, or applications where motors are regularly exposed to high pressure wash down.
Super-E Motors are designed to conserve energy over extended time periods. These premium efficiency designs are available in both Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled and Open Drip Proof construction. All three phase motors are Inverter Ready per NEMA Standard MG1, Part 126.96.36.199. This means the motors in 230 and 460 volts meet NEMA's corona inception voltage requirements, under this Standard, and can withstand peak voltages of up to 1600 volts. Motors having premium efficiency are also available in single phase designs.
Large Frame Motors are available in sizes up to (1100kW) 1500HP in a choice of popular enclosures, voltages and frequencies. These motors are available in high efficiency designs to conserve energy. With their premium rotor designs, these motors can be operated from variable speed drives through their entire speed range.
Integrated Stepper Motor and Microstepping Drive Baldor's DSMS Series stepper motors follow on from the DSM stepper motors integrating a high torque stepper motor and microstepping drive. New features include:

This is ideally suited for machine designers who want the simplicity of an integrated solution. The DSM motors helps to reduce the wiring in the system and the potential for problems due to electrical noise.
DSM is available in three frame sizes, NEMA 17, 23 and 34, and in 3 stack lengths. This gives a choice of motor torque values from 22.6 N-cm for the smallest motor to 749 N-cm for the largest motor.
A 1.8° high torque motor is combined with a microstepping drive, with up to 20 resolution settings from 400 steps to 51200 steps per motor revolution. The resolution is set using a simple Windows front end and USB Parameter Setup Cable. Additionally, the front end allows the motor run/hold current and motor direction to be changed. These settings can be changed on the fly via an integrated SPI (Serial Programming Interface) port and are stored in non-volatile memory.
The versatile, compact DSM motors are is available in multiple configurations to fit various system needs. These options include: a single shaft standalone device; dual shaft rotary motor with optical encoder or control knob. Interface connections are accomplished using a plug in connector, or 30 cm (12") flying leads.
The DSM motor is a compact, powerful and inexpensive solution that will reduce system cost, design and assembly time for a large range of stepping motor applications. It is ideally suited for use with Baldor's motion controllers, especially the versatile NextMove e100 motion controller.

Baldor has a wide selection of high performance AC and DC servo motors. Brushless servomotors provide the industries highest power density for high torque to inertia in a very compact package. All Baldor servo motors are designed for durability, and ability to handle harsh environments in applications.

AC Servo Motors
The BSM N-series provide applications with low inertia to attain the highest acceleration capability – to position faster – to obtain the highest machine throughput!. Baldor's motors are hard at work, increasing productivity, improving part quality, providing precision and reducing cost in many applications. This series provides continuous stall torques ranging from 0.4 Nm (4 Lb-In) to 40Nm (354 Lb-In). Peak torques are typically 4 times continuous. This series has the lowest inertia to provide the maximum torque per package size.
The BSM C-series has as standard, a “higher” inertia – thus providing an excellent match for equipment requiring “higher” inertial matching for the machine. This series provides continuous stall capability ranging from 1.2Nm (10 Lb-In) to 30Nm (256 Lb-In). Peak torques are typically three time continuous. Baldor's BSM C-series provides 50% more torque in a smaller size (50 mm/2 inches) shorter) compared to previous Baldor motors. The C-Series provides an economical package best used in applications with higher load inertias.
BSM Stainless Steel Motors
Baldor's totally stainless steel SSBSM series of servo motors are designed for food, liquid, pharmaceutical, washdown, and high hygiene applications. They may be applied in harsh, corrosive environments. These motors are designed to handle IP67 and withstand 1500 psi washdown conditions. These stainless steel servo motors are offered in standard and low inertia designs for best machine inertial matching. Included in this quality design are lazer etched nameplate, FDA shaft seal, environmental protected stator with premium moisture resistant wire, and internal thermal over temperature protection. Baldor’s SSBSM products are designed to be durable.

Baldor's low backlash GBSM-series of gearheads mount easily and directly onto the BSM C-series and N-series servo motors. These gearheads are designed for servo applications requiring precision, durability, and long trouble-free operation. The GBSM-series are planetary gearheads, which provide very high power transmission capability, torque multiplication, speed reduction and inertial matching. These are high efficiency gearheads. The standard GBSM gearheads are available in five different case sizes, which fit directly onto the five sizes of Baldor’s BSM servo motors. Mounting takes less than 2 minutes.

Baldor's DC Servo motors were designed rugged to meet demanding requirements of industrial motion control. Available in diameters from 55.8 to 101.6 mm (2.2 to 4 inches) to provide continuous stall torques up to 6.3 Nm (56 Lb-In) . They are designed to handle a continuous high temperature of 155°C for reliability and dependability. A wide variety of options are available for customization to meet your application needs - tachometers, encoders, brakes, mountings, shafts, windings, speeds, connectors, environmental.
DC Motors Baldor manufactures a wide range of permanent magnet and would field DC industrial motors from 15kW to 550kW.
All of our DC motors are covered by applicable UL, CSA and CE approvals and a warranty you would expect from a World-Class manufacturer.
Our motors are avialable in IEC and NEMA frame, with a full range of IEC motors available from stock. The motors are complements by our range of DC Drives.
Our NEMA frame DC motors include permanent magnet designs through 5 HP and wound field designs through 500 HP designed for adjustable speed operation from SCR controls. Applications include conveyors, extruders, winders, printing presses and metering pumps. Most designs are constructed so a tachometer may be added for closed loop applications. Permanent magnet and wound field designs for 90 or 180 VDC have a 20:1 constant torque speed range.

IEC Frame Permanent Magnet DC motors: Available in B3 foot, B5 flange and B14 face, the motors are available with TEFC and TENV options with IP54 protection. With a power range from 0.15 to 3.7kW, these motors are avialable in speeds of 1750 or 3000 RPM, and are rated for use with thyristor drives.
Washdown: Permanent magnet DC motors are available with a choice for standard painted or paint-free finishes. PMDC motors may be used for adjustable speed applications such as conveyors or packing equipment. The motors are FDA approved and can withstand ASTM, B117 salt spray for over 500 hours.
IEC Frame DC Shunt Wound Motors: Available in B3 foot, B5 flange and B14 face, the motors are available with IP54 protection. With a power range from 0.15 to 2.2kW, these motors are avialable in speeds of 1750 or 3000 RPM, and are rated for use with thyristor drives.
